About Susan

Susan Kenlea BSc (Hons) is a Psychologist, having graduated with first-class honours in 2000. She also has diplomas in Hypnotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Processing, Counselling, Stress Management, Modern Applied Psychology, Integral Psychology and Mindfulness.

During her corporate career, Susan helped many individuals with stress and anxiety, using techniques drawn from counselling, psychology and hypnotherapy. She specialised in providing advice on how to motivate people and help them work harmoniously together in teams. Susan provided people with the psychological tools and techniques needed to help them cope with all of the stresses of the modern workplace.

In 2009, Susan suffered severe health issues, which caused her to step away from the corporate world. She was then free to concentrate on helping individuals one-to-one with their mental health issues – particularly stress, anxiety and low self-esteem. She started creating audio recordings for individuals to listen to at home, allowing them to continue their recovery in their own time. Initially, these audios were based on traditional hypnotherapy or psychology, but over the years, Susan has expanded her expertise and now also creates audios based on mindfulness, meditation, deep relaxation, affirmations and journeys or stories just for fun or to fall asleep to. She has also created a wide range of training courses.

* Susan is currently in the process of moving all of her work across to her You Tube channel www.youtube.com/@pieces-of-mind, so that she can provide it for free to anyone who may need it. Going live in March 2024 – subscribe to get notified when the content is uploaded.

In 2018/2019, Susan suffered a series of personal tragedies, leading her to seek therapy herself. This introduced her to the world of Cognitive Hypnotherapy. Susan was so impressed with the results she achieved using these new techniques, she quickly included them in her own work. She formed a strong bond with her therapist, Lee Harrold, leading them to write a book together documenting Susan’s journey called How My Mind Healed Itself – 15 Lessons Learned in Therapy and 23 Ways to Help You.

Alongside her academic studies, Susan has also explored more esoteric subjects, such as Shamanism, Reiki and various other holistic and spiritual practices. Where appropriate, she includes these in her work to provide a deeper and more well-rounded approach to healing the mind, body and spirit and keeping them healthy. In her spare time, she also teaches belly dance, spiritual dance and Qi Gong.

Susan has dedicated her life to helping people with their mental health issues. It is her sincere hope that she can help you too.
